Eminem is the first artist to receive two Digital Diamond awards for two different singles from RIAA. The company’s chairman and CEO, Cary Sherman issued this statement, “We are delighted to recognize Eminem as the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards. This singular achievement – earning a Diamond Award on two separate digital songs – is unparalleled, and we congratulate him on forever etching a mark in Gold & Platinum Program history.”
EmInem previously received the 11x multi-Platinum Digital Single Diamond Award for “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna. RIAA recently crowned the rap veteran with a new Diamond certification in recognition of his 2010 single “Not Afraid” that is over 10x platinum. Along with Eminem receiving two Digital Diamond awards he also has two 10x multi-Platnium Diamond certified albums, 2000′s The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002′s The Eminem Show. Its definitely a possibility that The Marshall Mathers LP 2 may be on its way to 10x platinum.
