Pharrell Williams has expressed his shock over the arrest of six Iranian fans. "Happy" was a huge international hit in 2013, prompting fans across the world to post their "Happy" spoof/recreation videos.
Six fans from Iran also posted their recreation of the "Happy"video online. This prompted a police investigation; Iranian authorities deemed the song, and recreated video "vulgar", and going against their religious views.
Pharrell wrote on Facebook " It is beyond sad that these kids were arrested for trying to spread happiness."
The things we take for granted in free societies *sigh*.
