Michael Eavis Founder of Glastonbury Music Festival to recieve award

Michael Eavis is the dairy farmer who started Glastonbury (which is now the biggest music festival in the UK) back in 1970 on his farm yard. Back then, tickets were £1, and the ticket-holders even got free milk from the dairy farmer. It all started with 1500 people attending, and now its grown to over 175,000.

Eavis is the recipient of this year's MIT Award (Music Industry Trusts Award), and it honors his contribution to UK live music industry, and his charitable contribution - Glastonbury also raises money for charitable causes.

This year's Glastonbury Festival will take place from June 25 - 29.
