Miley Cyrus begins UK tour next Tuesday

Great news for fans of Miley Cyrus - she's heading to the UK! The 21 year old singer is bringing her controversial 'Bangerz' tour to the UK and the rest of Europe. The tour kicks off at the O2 Arena London next Tuesday. Miley is currently recovering from an allergic reaction, but she's certain she'll be ready to continue her tour next week.

This week Mariah Carey's single "You're mine (Eternal)" moved up from no. 1 to no.2 on  Billboard's Dance Clubs Song Chart.

An initial 16-date US stadium tour has been confirmed, and international dates will be annouced soon.The US tour kicksoff in Miami, Florida on June 24.

BBC Introducing artist to represent UK at Eurovison Song Contest

BBC Introducing artist Molly Smitten-Downes has been selected to represent UK at the Eurovision song contest. She joins the list of other BBC Indroducing artists such as Florence and the Machine, who launched their music career on an international scale via the Eurovision contest.

We wish Molly all the best, perhaps she might be as successful as ABBA, who got a big boost from the Eurovision Song Contest. You can read more on the story here.

Simon Cowell's West End musical gets cancelled after 6 weeks

Some bad news for Simon Cowell. Unfortunately his new West End musical "I Can't Sing" has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. The show only just opened 6 weeks ago in the UK.

Simon is reported to have lost £4 million due to the cancellation. Oh well, Simon's still got Britain's Got Talent and X-Factor (in the UK) - that should be enough consolation for him (we hope).

Billboard charts - top 200 albums

This week, Disney's Frozen soundtrack album maintains its number one position on the Billboard album charts (across all music genre). 21 year old August Alsina comes in second with the Testimony album. You can view the rest of the top 200 albums across all music genre here.

BGT Contestant already has record deal?

Press Association is reporting that Britain's Got Talent (BGT) contestant Bailey Mconnell already has a management deal, and is working on an album. According to the report, 14 year old Bailey recorded the song he performed on BGT for online channel SBTV which has links to Sony Music. Simon Cowell (a judge on the show) works for Sony Music. To read the rest of the story click here. While we wish young talented Bailey all the best on the show, this no doubt raises a lot of questions about BGT - is it really fair play?

Avril Lavigne - Hello Kitty

Last week we did a feature on Avril Lavigne's new video for the song "Hello Kitty". In case you missed the feature click here. Early last week, the video was pulled within hours of its release. It was then uploaded again 4 days ago. Its was reported to have been pulled initially due to negative feedback the video received.

DJ Rashad dies

DJ Rashad has passed away, and cause of death is a suspected drug overdose. He was in his mid-thirties, and was a pioneer of Chicago's footwork and juke music scenes.

DJ Rashad's last album "Double cup" received great reviews from Rolling stone magazine and The Guardian. RIP DJ Rashad. Below is the audio for "Double cup".

TLC's former manager sues VH1's parent company for $40 million

According to Vibe.com, the former manager of top 1990s girl group TLC has filed a $40 million lawsuit against Viacom (the parent company of VH1). The controversial former TLC manager Perri "Pebbles" Reid (ex-wife of music executive LA Reid) was not too pleased with her portrayal in the TLC biopic "Crazy Sexy Cool:The TLC Story" which premiered on VH1 last year (2013). The cryptic tweet that sparked rumours of Oasis reunion

So last week Liam Gallager of the huge British rockband Oasis took to Twitter and tweeted - OASIS LG. The tweets got fans excited with lots of speculations of an Oasis reunion. Oasis split up in 2009 after bandmembers Liam and Noel Gallagher (brothers) had a disagreement.

Noel Gallagher later put the rumours to rest - he confirmed there will be no Oasis reunion. Actually, according to OK.co.uk his exact words were "There's more chance of me and my ex-wife getting back together". Click here to read more on the story.

Throwback video from the 1990s - Aqua's controversial Barbie girl song

"Barbie girl" was a controversial pop hit back in 1997. Rolling stone magazine actually named "Barbie girl" one of the 20 Most Annoying Songs. But somehow, this song managed to hit top of the music charts across the world, especially in Europe - it made no.1 on the UK pop charts for 13 weeks in a row! The main controversy was a copyright infringement lawsuit by the makers of Barbie doll (Mattel), however, the lawsuit was dismissed by the US courts.

Below is the "Barbie girl" video and a better song (in our view) - "Turn back time' which was featured on the soundtrack of the 1998 movie "Sliding doors" starring Gwyneth Paltrow.

Ricky Wilson may not be back for the next series of The Voice UK?

According to Yahoo, rocker Ricky Wilson may not be back (as a coach) for the next installment of The Voice UK. Ricky wants the gig, but hasn't heard from the show's producers about  signing him on for the next series.

Kylie (also a coach from the last series) announced scheduled tour dates has led to her departure from The Voice UK just after one series. So that leaves two coaches - Sir Tom Jones and Will I Am.

We hope Ricky gets a spot on the red seat, and we definately know there are no Kaiser Chief tours conflicting with the next series of The Voice UK. You can read more about this via Yahoo (click here)

I'm not the enemy by Lina

I discovered Lina this weekend after watching the movie High Crime starring Ashley Judd (2002). Lina albeit talented, is not a famous artist. I guess that is why I've never heard of her.

The song "I'm not the enemy" came on during the closing credits of the movie. What caught my attention was the unique sound - it had a twenties era vibe to it. Below is the song via YouTube.

Del La Soul Easter egg hunt

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. According to Rollingstone.com, American hip hop trio Del La Soul did something really cool this Easter weekend. They had their very own Easter egg hunt - they hid a 100 vinyl copies of their mixtape in record stores across the US, UK, and Canada. Drake surprises terminally ill cancer patient

Last weekend, Drake surprised a 15-year-old cancer patient. Kennedy Brown is currently battling brain cancer, and one of her last wishes before she dies was to meet rapper Drake. Her closest friends launched a social media campaign #DrakeForKen and hoped they would get a response from Drake - and they did!

You've gotto give it to Drake, thats a rapper with a kind heart.
