Akon is of African origin and was born in the USA, however, he considers Africa his home. 60,000 tickets were given out for the free show aimed at promoting peace and unity in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a precaution to protect himself against the Ebola virus, Akon performed in a plastic protective bubble.
