Apple Launches Special App To Delete Free U2 Album

According to reports, U2 and Universal (the band's record label) made a $100 million deal with Apple for "Songs of Innocence" album (for royalty & marketing campaign), which Apple gave out free to over 500 million iTunes users across the globe. Sounds like a great marketing campaign to launch the new iPhone6 right? Wrong! There was a backlash by iPhone users as the album appeared in their music library without their consent - worst still most iPhone users couldn't figure out how to delete the album from their music library.

This prompted Apple to launch a special App that deletes the U2 album from iPhones. Bono responded by tweeting: "People who haven't heard our music, or weren't remotely interested, might play us for the first time because we're in their library... And for the people out there who have no interest in checking us out, look at it this way... the blood, sweat and tears of some Irish guys are in your junk mail."
